Welcome back for another year!!!
We are still trying to work out the kinks in schedules. As soon as they are final I will send home a list of which day you student has each MAPS class. This will allow you to know which days PE uniforms will be needed. Thanks for you patience with this matter. We want the best possible schedule we can have for your student.
We have some fun events coming up! Be sure to mark your calendars.
7th Grade Field Day will be on Wednesday, May 20th.
The 8th Grade Picnic will be on Friday, May 22nd.
There will be an art auction to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital on Tuesday, April 7. The Auction will be held in the auditorium at CMS at 5:00pm. Art that is included in the auction consists of student work and the work of local artists.
There will be no school on Friday, April 10. I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend!
There will be a PTA meeting on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 6:00pm in the auditorium.
Check your student’s assignment notebook daily. You will find important information that is specific to your student. You can feel free to communicate with me through your student’s assignment notebook. I look at them each morning. Also, it is very important that you sign the notebook each night. This will let me know that you have seen it. Thank you so much for your cooperation!
Students and teachers will not attend school on Monday, January 19, 2009, in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday.
Open House will be held on Tuesday, October 21, from 5:00 until 7:30. Dinner will be served in the cafeteria at 5:00. Classrooms will open at 5:30. DVDs concerning huffing and drinking will be shown in the auditorium with Officer Landers and Mrs. Butner.
The DVD concerning huffing will be shown at 5:30 and 6:30.
The DVD concerning drinking will be shown at 6:00 and 7:00.

Your student will attend an assembly tomorrow morning at 9:00am in the auditorium. The assembly will concern gang activity. We will discuss the assembly in class. Be sure to ask your student what he or she learned during the assembly.
